Crunches, plank, and leg lifts. There are also a few other things you can do. I found a blog that explains a few ways to get abs.

Get (and do) the ‘Insansity’ workout (google it). You use your own body as resistance but this intense interval training will help you get ‘ripped’ and in the best shape of your lives

Susan asks…

How can I get ripped abs and a V-shaped torso without having to go to the gym? Exercises I could do at home?

One of the absolute best ways that I’ve found to get great abs is actually something you can do while driving, sitting at your desk or even eating! Tighten up for abs as hard as you can and count to 15. That right there is better than doing 5 crunches! After three, no lie, the next morning I thought my abs were on fire!

John asks…

What are some good workouts i can do at home specifaccly to make my abs better.. just to make em more ripped?

i guess i have a descent body.. its a lil on the thiner side but i got some muscle.. id ssay like a basketball body.. .but i want my abs to be a little mroe ripped..wut are some good home workouts?? will situps help me out at all?? and will push ups help to keep my streanght up?

joma12 answers:

If you are thin then i suggest start with the crunches. Situps are more for your upper abs, and crunches are more for all of them. And contrary to popular belief, neither help you lose fat around your waist. Running is the best thing for that.
So i would start a schedule of doing (depending on how many you can do, and how ripped you plan to become) 40-60 crunches
How to crunch properly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfqT_3otpeA
then stretch your abs the other way by curving your back / leaning back etc.

Then i would do 40-60 situps

then stretch again

pushups will keep your strength up in your arms and chest depending on how you do them. Try doing 25 with your hands right at your shoulders, right at your stomach, then right above your head. After you have built up enough strength then you can move to handstand pushups. Those are when you stand on your head in a corner, and push yourself into a handstand, then back down. I recommend doing this on a bed that way if you come down too fast it doesnt hurt your head. And your bed is usually already in a corner.

Remember the key is do this everyday, at the same time each day. And do a set number. Not how many you can do. If you can do 120 crunches, chances are you are doing it wrong. Or you are doing them too fast to build the muscle in your abs. Same thing with pushups
