Donald asks…

What amount of sets and reps do you need to do to get ripped?

Im aware that getting ripped requires nutrition and cardio.. aware of that.
i can’t however seem to find the amount of sets you should do..
in other words what do you go for. do you go for bulk and just incorporate cardio or do you go more for lean muscle…
high reps low weight or low reps high weight

joma12 answers:

Go for low cardio and heavy weights and lower reps like between 6-10 it takes very hard training to get ripped but the more bulk you get, you may start to appear to lose the ripped appearance. Thats what cutting up does but only when your ready to.

Sharon asks…

Need to know about better nutrition for being toned and ripped?

I am wanting to get more cut and toned ( lower body fat but still have good amount of muscle) but I need to know if eating six small meals a day is the only way to do that. I eat around 3-4 times a day and they are healthy, but is that enough?

joma12 answers:

Eating 6-7 small meals per day is best as it not only keeps your metabolism firing and burning fat, it also keeps your muscles ‘fed’. Make sure you get protein with every meal too.

To be honest if you’re eating 3-4 times per day already it shouldn’t be difficult to add another meal or two.

The extra food doesn’t have to be fully cooked meals. You could have a piece of fruit, a handful of mixed nuts or a protein shake for example. These sort of things can be classed as one of your 6 meals per day.

One good tip would be to eat some slow release protein just before bed, which will keep your muscles ‘fed’ throughout the night and stop them breaking down while you sleep. Try cottage cheese, which contains casein (a slow-release protein).
