Comparing And Contrasting P90X And Rip60

I am biased when it comes to anything involving P90X. I feel like it changed my life to such a degree and got me into shape I never thought I would ever see again, that I am an unashamed fan of the program.

I have since gone back and done the program a couple more times and let me tell you that it delivers the second and third times as well.  You continue to grow and get into better and better shape as you go. Eventually you see gains in your ability and appearance that are nothing short of astounding.

I annoy my friends (and I am sure some readers as well) by tending to compare all home workouts I review against the high standard I believe is set by P90X.

So I guess it is fair to say that in many ways Rip60 with Jillian Michaels and George St. Pierre started out in a really bad spot with me.  You also have to take into account that it is very obvious that Rip60 is seeking direct competition with P90X.

The name alone and the effort to provide P90X level results in a shorter time frame make the goals of the Rip60 manufacturers clear. First, the similarities are that both use a great deal of variety of movements to keep the body off-balanced and confused. This concept promotes growth and change faster than simply repeating the same workout multiple times per week.

Second, both products effectively use structure and a defined end point very near in the future. This carries the advantage of keeping people focused on a goal which prevents distraction and quitting.

Third, both workouts are very challenging.
For the beginner it is highly likely that you haven’t been through anything like you’ll go through when you start out with either workout program.  You will know both Rip60 and P90X are working by the way you feel and what you see.

You will see fast changes if you stay with it.

The major contrast between the two programs lies in how Rip60 doesn’t have the iron-clad guarantee of P90X. The P90X guarantee of full refund after 90 days is integral to the program and has drawn raves from legions of fans.

Rip60 has no such guarantee and still asks the user to pay a higher price point than P90X. This is a peculiar quirk of Rip60 that will be interesting to analyze over the next few months and years for how it impacts sales.
