There are few things that are more effective for losing weight, overall fitness, or pure enjoyment than running or jogging. You can run almost anywhere there is ground – grass, hills, pavement, sidewalk, dirt, whatever. In this article, we’ll be looking at some important principles to keep in mind when running.

If you are going to run or jog to get in shape, you must be consistent. Most people have lots of enthusiasm when they begin a running routine, and sometimes they even get overzealous. Then they get sore muscles or an injury, and they don’t run for a few months. This isn’t how you want to do it if you want to get the most out of your running routine. Just start slow and then make sure you focus on consistency. When it comes to running, you can’t go wrong with 3 days/week for thirty minutes at a time. When you first start out, forget about how fast you’re going. It doesn’t matter how fast you go at first, as long as you stick with it, and this is opposed to pushing too hard so that you quit because you’re frustrated. While it’s true that running when you’re sick or injured is never smart, it will still become necessary to really motivate yourself sometimes. The ones with all the excuses, like being too fatigued or too worn out, will never stick with their running routines long enough to receive maximum benefit from it.

It’s a good idea to study the health benefits of jogging. This helps to keep you motivated on days when you don’t really feel like going out and running. Jogging is great activity if you are trying to lose weight but you have to be consistent.

Jogging will also help keep your bones strong and is great for cardiovascular health.
The runner’s high is another benefit of jogging because jogging releases endorphins. In other words, if you don’t feel like jogging because you’re feeling down or depressed, that’s the best time to do it, as you’ll soon feel better once you get started!

Always take in some water before you begin your jog every time. Don’t eat before running unless you want to throw up – simple as that. Forget all the high tech drinks because they are unnecessary – it’s water and always has been. Never drink a gallon of water and start running – you’ll get sick. If you want to carry a water bottle with you when you jog, you can but it’s really not necessary unless you’re running a very good distance. Only drink good clean water after you’re done punishing yourself and avoid anything colored. Staying hydrated is very important when you are jogging or doing any kind of strenuous exercise.

No doubt, jogging can make you healthy, happier, and people really do have fun doing it. There are all kinds of reasons why people begin to jog, and the fact is that unless there’s an injury most people run for a lifetime. We hope these very few tips have helped you, and maybe you’ll begin jogging and continue forever.
