Finally you have decided the reflection you in the mirror is not you…at least not the way you want to look. Over the years due to many reasons, you have slowly added a few pounds. Unfortunately those few pounds have turned into many pounds and now you have to admit, I am fat!

Plus it is starting to affect your health and self-image. The first problem is deciding which plan are you going to choose and how fast do you want to lose the weight. If you have a family because if you change your diet, chances are your will be changing your family’s as well.

It is a big decision and you want “them” to support your effort as well, because everyone will benefit in this slight lifestyle change. Rather than eating 3 large meals each day, break them up into 6 smaller meals each day. That way your metabolism will increase and burn more fat.

Be sure to include fruit, vegetables, fiber and several high protein products like yogurt and cheese. A side benefit is that you will no have hunger pains and tempted to snack on the wrong types of food.

Here is a fact you need to think about:

The food you eat will either make you THIN or FAT. Exercise is important, but it is not the lack of exercise that makes you fat. You gain weight because you are not eating the right food at the right time of the day. Eating the right foods at the right time of the day will let your body burn those calories and not store them as fat…and that is what is happening now.

The calories you are taking in are not being used for energy, so they are stored as ugly fat. Here are the 4 “practices” that you need to be aware of their consequences.

Avoid these and you are beginning your weight loss program to lose weight quickly:

Low Calorie Diets – Starving your body will slow down your body’s fat burning engine.
Once your metabolism slows down, weight loss will stop. Your body is now in survival mode. Low Fat Diets – How long have you been checking the fat content in foods? Still gaining weight?

Hmmm, there is a lesson here. Many low-fat foods are also high in sugar. That’s bad.

Low Carb Diets:

This is a difficult plan to follow. Carbs are what the body burns for energy. That is why athletes load up on carbs before a competition. This diet makes you feel lousy and hungry because your body is begging for “food to burn.” Hungry and tired that is a no win situation.

Weight Watchers & Jenny Craig Diet Plans – These programs work, but at a slower pace and over a longer period of time. Plus, they’re expensive. Ideally the program you choose will be one that your family will be a part of as well.

You know you are going to have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our society dictates most lives to be scheduled around those 3 time periods. What you are going to do, is schedule 3 other “snack meals” eating the right foods and the right amounts so that your body will be triggered to burn the stored calories and you will see the results by having a smaller waist, firmer body, and an attitude that will be contagious to everyone that you are around.
